Genova Lufthavn ligger kun en kort køretur på 7 km fra byens centrum. Italiens Ligurien-region har et veludviklet transportsystem, og passagerer, der ankommer til lufthavnen eller ønsker at rejse fra lufthavnen, vil finde lufthavnens shuttlebusser meget omkostningseffektive og bekvemme. De to primære buslinjer har stop lige uden for ankomstområdet i terminalbygningen. Der er også en hurtig busforbindelse mellem lufthavnen og de vigtigste togstationer. Busserne er moderne, komfortable og har masser af plads til passagerernes bagage.

Busser fra Genova Lufthavn drives af VOLABUS (ATM), en shuttle-service, der forbinder lufthavnen med Brignole og Principe togstationer i det centrale Genova. Disse er de to vigtigste transitstationer i byen. Busrejsen tager cirka 30 til 40 minutter, og servicen er tilgængelig 7 dage om ugen. Billetter til VOLABUS kan købes hos chaufføren eller i de automatiske billetmaskiner i terminalbygningen i lufthavnen og på forskellige steder i byens centrum, herunder togstationerne.

VOLABUS gør stop ved lufthavnen, ved Via Cornigliano/Stazione FS, ved Via Pacinotti/Fiumara, derefter ved Piazza Acquaverda (togstationen Principe FS), ved De Ferrari/Centro Città og endelig ved togstationen Brignole FS. Disse er kun afstigningssteder, og passagerer har ikke tilladelse til at stige på bussen ved disse stoppesteder.

Genova Airport primarily serves the city of Genoa, located on the north-western coast of Italy. Bus transfers make the approximately 8-kilometre journey between airport and city centre very easy, while the airport also serves as an excellent transport hub for tourists wishing to visit the famous Cinque Terre, though travelling from central Genoa to the region by train is advised, rather than bus. From Genoa city centre, bus transfers are possible to neighbouring cities such as Turin, Milan and Nice across the French border.
