Major airlines offer flights to and from Genova Airport. Air Dolomiti, Air France, Air Italy, Air One, a partner of Lufthansa, Alitalia, British Airways, Lufthansa, Ryanair, Vueling and Turkish Airlines all operate in the destination.

Serving the city of Genoa the present airport is locally known as the Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport, the aviation hub is run by Aeroporto di Genova S.p.A. with the technical support of Aeroporti die Roma. To meet the growing demand in terms of increasing passenger numbers and more freight transport passing through the airport, an extensive development program has been undertaken. It was expanded and modernised in 2015 and infrastructure has been relocated along the following layout:
Eastern Area: this houses cargo terminal, support offices, fueling area and the maintenance hangars;
Western Area: this is the new home of ENAV technical facilities, have multi-purpose hangars for general aviation use
Central Area: this houses the passenger terminal, airlines, governmental authorities, car parks and operating company offices
Northern Area: this is home to more governmental authority offices and the carrier operations base.
In the arrivals area of the terminal passengers will find a large number of well-known car hire companies serving Genoa Airport like Avis, Maggiore, Hertz, Europcar, Auto Europa, E-Sixt, Easycar Italia and Travelcar among others. The arrivals hall also has a tourist information stand, open from Mondays to Sundays from 9.00am to 1.00pm and from 1.30pm to 5.30pm (tel +39 010 601 5247). Public transport for travel to and from Genoa Airport is offered by VOLABUS, a shuttle service that runs between the airport and Brignole and Principe train stations in the city center. The journey takes 30 minutes and the service is available 7 days a week. Tickets for the bus can be bought from the driver or at the automated ticket machines in the terminal building and at a variety of city center locations.
A brand new shuttle service I24 operates between the terminal and the Sistri Ponente district of Genoa, takes passengers to the railway station and to the new Marina Genoa Airport. From the train stations passengers have access to an extensive rail network covering most of Italy and some of its neighbouring countries.
Taxis are available from just outside the arrivals area. One of the official airport taxis is the company Solotaxi (www.solotaxi.it, tel +39 010 5966). The white fleet of taxi vehicles can cover the 7.2 kilometer distance to Genoa city center in a very short time.
For passengers departing from the airport there are easily accessible car parking facilities within a short walking distance of the terminal building. It is free to park in the short-term car park (P3) for the first 30 minutes, thereafter passengers will be charged €1.00 for the first hour, after that 60 minutes or part thereof will be charged at €2.50. Long-term parking can be pre-booked. The central car parking area has space for 700 cars, while the short term car parking area has room for 70 vehicles. The long-term parking facility has space for 202 cars.
There is a Banca Carige branch in the terminal building, where passengers can get cash from a counter and an ATM and the currency exchange desk is open Mondays to Fridays from 8.00am to 6.00pm, and on Saturdays from 8.00am to 1.20pm.
A number of shops are also situated in the airport and duty free shopping is situated on the air transport side of the security checkpoint. Here passengers can buy toiletries and perfumes, visit boutiques, buy designer clothes, electronics and household decorations. To obtain duty free status goods, passengers must be able to produce their boarding pass when asked to do so at the till.
There are at least five airport and city center hotels offering overnight accommodation and conference facilities. The Sheraton, Palazzo Cicala, Grand Hotel Arenzano, Marina Place and Hotel Regina Elena are all within a short journey of Genova Airport.
Passengers with priority passes or holders of cards like the Alitalia Gold and Platinum Freccia Alata Card or Lufthansa's Senator Card may enjoy the comfort and services of the VIP lounge. Passengers without such cards can still enjoy the VIP Lounge but must purchase a voucher at the Ticketing Desk. A voucher for a traveler with boarding pass costs €20.00 and a non-travelling visitor will be charged €10.00.
The VIP Lounge offers many benefits such as free WiFi-connections, Italian and foreign language newspapers, a snack bar and telecheck-in services for passengers who are travelling with nothing more than hand luggage.
For passengers with mobility problems there are lifts between the floors, ramps on pavements and disabled toilets. The lift buttons are equipped with braille for visually impaired passengers. The departure level also has a touch-sensitive route for visually impaired passengers.
The terminal building offers a range of dining and refreshment services. There is a bar and pizzeria, a self-service restaurant, a café and Moka Bar, a wine bar and the arrivals area also has a bar, which is open in the evening.
